Hand built for a budget. Since starting PJD guitars in 2010 Leigh Dovey has always wanted to deliver a hand built guitar from the UK that didn't break the bank. The Woodford Standard delivers quality materials, crafted using the highest building standards. Something for which PJD has become recognised. Available in an amazing range of translucent colours to be applied to a painstakingly hand sanded, open grain, solid, American ash body. Add in Cream T P90's, an individually carved neck and finish with Gotoh Hardware and you have the Woodford Standard. Available in left hand and a choice of 10 open grain colours. GOTOH VINTAGE STYLE MACHINE HEADS

The Gotoh Vintage-Style Machine Heads are a perfect fit for the Woodford Elite. With vintage styling and excellent tuning stability these are a great set of Machine Heads.

AMERICAN ASH BODY & FLAME MAPLE TOP

This guitar has a lovely 3-Piece American Ash body with a book matched Flame Maple top.

Ash produces chiming highs, clear midrange and strong low end that lets higher overtones ring through, resulting in greater harmonic content.

The transparent Sea Blue finish pairs beautifully with the Flame Maple top.

SATIN ULTRA THIN NITRO FINISH

Nitro finish allows the wood on your guitar to breathe, yielding a more open sound and greater sustain. It's a very high quality finish that looks and feels great.

CREAM T P90

Using Cream T's proprietory Super Scanner this pickup has been produced by cloning a 1961 Gibson ES-330. This gives you a fat, clean tone with a smoother treble ideal for harder, driving rock with more grind. It sounds like an old P-90 rather than a new pickup with hard edges. Brilliant for creating those classic tones we all know and love.

  • Neck Output approx: 8.2k*
  • Bridge Output approx: 8.6k*

HIGH GRADE INTERNAL COMPONENTS

All of the internal components in the Woodford Elite are top of the range to make sure that your guitar plays and sounds as good as it looks!

INCLUDING:

  • Bare Knuckle 5-Way Switch
  • Output Jack: Switchcraft
  • 280k Volume & Tone pot

'HOT DOG' FRETS

'Hot dog' fret ends have a decidedly rounded shape, hence the 'Hot dog' look. This is not a universal name for this type of fret, but luthiers commonly call it that!

On a premium fretted instrument, such as a PJD the hand rolled fret ends show the luthier has spent a good amount of time making sure every fret is not only leveled and perfect, but also has super-smooth edges that feel good on the fret hand. The 'Hot dog' frets have a unqiue feel to them but are very comfortable and are considered to be a premium option on a guitar.
