This stunning PJD standard is the entry level to the Carey models. Made with all the attention to detail you would expect but with a little less of the embellishment of the Carey Elite. The Carey Standard features a chambered swamp ash body, paired with an Ash top. The neck is made from roasted maple, with a custom neck profile based on a standard "C" shape. The guitar is finished in Trans White and is fitted with a Bare Knuckle Old Guard P90 and Humbucker. Hand made in the UK.

The Gotoh Vintage-Style Machine Heads are a perfect fit for the Carey Standard. With vintage styling and excellent tuning stability these are a great set of Machine Heads.

TWO PIECE AMERICAN ASH CHAMBERED BODY & ASH TOP

This guitar has a lovely Two Piece chambered American Ash body with a Ash top.

Ash produces chiming highs, clear midrange and strong low end that lets higher overtones ring through, resulting in greater harmonic content.

The transparent White finish pairs beautifully with the open grain of the Ash top.

SATIN ULTRA THIN NITRO FINISH

Nitro finish allows the wood on your guitar to breathe, yielding a more open sound and greater sustain. It's a very high quality finish that looks and feels great.

BARE KNUCKLE OLD GUARD P90 & HUMBUCKER

The Bare Knuckle Old Guard P90 has a fat, clean tone with a smoother treble ideal for harder, driving rock with more grind.

The Old Guard Humbucker has a warm, moderate output designed for classic blues, rock, country and pop.

Both of these pickups brillantly capture the golden era tones we all know and love.

'HOT DOG' FRETS

'Hot dog' fret ends have a decidedly rounded shape, hence the 'Hot dog' look. This is not a universal name for this type of fret, but luthiers commonly call it that!

On a premium fretted instrument, such as a PJD the hand rolled fret ends show the luthier has spent a good amount of time making sure every fret is not only leveled and perfect, but also has super-smooth edges that feel good on the fret hand. The 'Hot dog' frets have a unqiue feel to them but are very comfortable and are considered to be a premium option on a guitar.
